Air travel

Most trips begin, and end, with the flight. Let's go over a few tips to help make your flights as painless as possible.

First and foremost, pack correctly. Never put valuables or medications in your checked baggage. Always put identification on and in all of your luggage.

Carry on is not carry all you can. Don't overload, you'll just be miserable. DO put in valuables, things you'll need on the plane to be more comfortable, like lotion, eye drops, a toothbrush and mini toothpaste. Don't forget to put all liquids, lotions and gels in a one-quart ziplock for those TSA goofballs.

Bring earplugs and eyeshades for long flights. An inflatable neck pillow is a great idea too.

A book and a MP3 are your best friends.

Buy a bottle of water once you clear security. Planes are dry and a 4 ounce cup of water from the flight attendant won't cut it.

Most of all, be patient. It's a big, flying cattle car. There will always be the person in the security line who had no idea that shoes and jackets come off until instructed by the TSA agent.
